How to get a copy of an EIN Certificate
To request a copy of your EIN certificate, contact the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line at 1-800-829-4933. Follow the prompts to speak with an agent in the Business Tax Department. The IRS will mail a replacement certificate to the address originally provided when you registered your business.*
You may also request that the IRS agent fax a copy of your EIN certificate. Please note that the faxed document will not be the original letter issued when your EIN was first created. Instead, you will receive an interim letter on official IRS letterhead confirming your EIN and documenting your request for a replacement copy.
* Please note: If your business has moved since its formation and you have not submitted an official change of address with the IRS Business Division, the mailed certificate will be sent to your original business address.
How to get a copy of the Certificate of Organization/Incorporation
If you misplace the stamped/receipted Certificate of Organization/Incorporation for your business, you can contact the state by phone or mail.
