Tellers are responsible for accurately and efficiently performing face to face transactions and answering basic product inquiries from members in a pleasant and positive manner.

This position requires a passion for member service and strong communication skills. A high school or equivalent education required. One year of financial or retail experience is preferred. Good computer skills are necessary.

Collection Officer
Part Time

Overview

The Collection Officer is responsible for the control of delinquent loans/credit cards while adhering to all credit union policies and procedures. The Collection Department works with members who are experiencing challenges in making payments to their loans or credit cards. The primary focus of this department is to help our members navigate options and identify solutions to ensure timely payments and improve their overall financial health.

Responsibilities

  • Contact members to discuss past due payments and develop plans to bring accounts to a current status.
  • Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and progress.
  • Take actions in order to encourage timely payments.
  • Investigate any issues regarding the posting of payroll deductions, loan payments, ACH payments and/or periodic payments.
  • Obtain and review credit bureau reports on delinquent accounts when necessary.
  • Mail delinquent notices weekly.
  • Prepare correspondence for collection department.
  • Assist members who have CPI or MPI (forced-placed insurance).
  • Review State National Electronic Funds Report weekly and contact insurance companies and/or members when necessary.
  • Compose required information for collection agency.
  • Perform skip-tracing.
  • Execute other job-related duties as directed. Ex. Managing the negative shares report, handling repossessions and preparing accounts for charge-off.
  • Attend job-related meetings, conferences, seminars and training courses as needed.
  • Complete job duties in compliance with policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) and the State of Pennsylvania

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of collection experience or experience within the financial industry.
  • Basic knowledge of credit union services, including but not limited to deposit accounts, consumer loans, real estate loans & credit cards.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
