TCAFCU Voted #1 Credit Union – 10 years in a row! (August 2017)

TCAFCU was named the #1 Credit Union in the Tri County Area!  On August 31st, our credit union was announced as the recipient of the Readers Choice Award for the 10th consecutive year!  The award was presented by the Pottstown Mercury.   Thank you to all of our loyal members!

Elementary students from across the Pottstown School District competed in the 3rd Annual Math Olympiad.   We proudly sponsored this event by providing  tshirts, snacks & drinks!

 


Tri County Area FCU Co-Hosts the 3rd Annual Financial Reality Fair @ Pottstown High School
(April 2017)

Tri County Area Federal Credit Union joined Diamond Credit Union & the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association to present the 3rd Annual Financial Reality Fair at Pottstown High School on April 5, 2017.   Approximately 150 students attended this “hands on” budgeting experience to gain practical knowledge about personal financial management in a one-day “real world” environment.  The Financial Reality Fair is designed to teach students the value of using money responsibly.  Wrigley’s Business Products & Services donated T-shirts for the students, and  sent a representative from their team to help out at the fair.

 


TCAFCU Sponsors 5th Annual Dancing 4 Hope Fundraiser

Tri County Area FCU was a proud sponsor of the 5th Annual Dancing 4 Hope Fundraiser at La Massaria ballroom at Bella Vista Golf Course. It was a fun-filled evening with dinner, drinks, raffles and dancing. Over 150 supporters attended the event with all proceeds going directly to Designing 4 Hope – a local, non-profit organization that provides critically ill children with a special place to rest, recover, heal and dream by creating dream bedroom makeovers.

TCAFCU has been a strong supporter of Designing 4 Hope since 2012. The credit union provides an annual donation for bedroom makeovers and raises additional funds through employee payroll deduction. TCAFCU employees are given the opportunity to work with the D4H Team on sponsored makeovers.


Financial Reality Class @ Pottstown YMCA

On January 26th,  a few of our staff members had the opportunity to spend the evening with an amazing group of Pottstown Y Achievers, discussing the importance of budgeting.


 TCAFCU Supports The Salvation Army

Several TCAFCU employees graciously donated clothing  and toys to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program so that several children in our community can experience the joy of Christmas morning!

 


TCAFCU Donates 185 Poinsettia Plants to Meals on Wheels Recipients

December 12th is National Poinsettia Day…a great day for our Annual Poinsettia Donation to Meals on Wheels recipients in the Pottstown Area!   A few TCAFCU employees helped the regular volunteers with the delivery of 185 poinsettia plants.

 

 


Santa Visits TCAFCU
(December 2016)

Santa Claus visited TCAFCU on December 10th.   Several children came to see Santa and share their wishlist with him.  Each child received a gift from Santa while everyone enjoyed some cookies.  Parents had the opportunity to take photos of their children with Santa at no cost.


TCAFCU Teaches Financial Lessons @ Pottstown High School

TCAFCU had the opportunity to teach financial lessons to roughly 100 ROTC students.   Classes were held throughout the day at Pottstown High School on November 3rd and 14th.   Some of the topics discussed were Savings, Checking, Credit Cards and Loans.  Students even practiced writing checks!

Pottsgrove Students Participate in Financial Reality Fair

On Wednesday, October 12, Tri County Area FCU, Diamond CU, and the PA Credit Union Foundation brought a Financial Reality Fair to Pottsgrove High School. This was the first ever Financial Reality Fair at Pottsgrove High School. The fair provided students with experiential learning and a hands-on budgeting experience to gain practical knowledge about personal financial management in a one-day, “real world” environment.  Upon completion of the exercise, students were each given a “Keeping It Real” t-shirt, donated by Wrigley’s Office Supply.

Free Hot Dog Fridays in July

Hot Dog with hot dogWe are so thankful for our members here at Tri County Area FCU!   This July, we showed our appreciation by serving up Free Hot Dogs every Friday!   In addition, we held weekly drawings at each of our offices.  Congratulations to the winners…  Michele Gery, Tony Vitacco Sr., Don Dorkoskie, Sharon Templeton, Cheryl Godshall, Melissa Destefano, Andrea DeWane and James Miller.

TCAFCU Presents a Financial Basics Lesson at the Pottstown YMCA

On June 30th,  we had the opportunity to participate as presenter at the Pottstown Summer Community Camp program at the Pottstown YMCA.   Working together with a group of 5th-8th grade students, we were able to discuss a range of financial topics from budgeting to credit cards.


TCAFCU Teaches Financial Lessons @ Ringing Rocks Elementary School

On June 8th,  our credit union was invited to speak to over 400 Elementary Students (K-2) at Ringing Rocks Elementary School.    Each of the 3 grade levels (K-2) were presented with a fun lesson about Saving and Spending.   Afterwards, each student received a workbook and pencil from the credit union.

TCAFCU Participates in Pottstown School Districts STEAM Event

Tri County Area FCU Participates in DEAR Day at Rupert Elementary School

On April 8th, TCAFCU participated in DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) day at Rupert Elementary School.    Liz Peters, TCAFCU Business Development Officer, was invited into the classroom to read to the students.


Tri County Area FCU Provides Funds to Local Police Department
(April 2016)

On Monday, April 4th, Tri County Area FCU CEO/President, Andrew C. Pistoria, presented the Lower Pottsgrove Township Police Department with a $2500 donation to help with their project to outfit their vehicles with upgraded technology.  This donation will be used to upgrade an outdated mobile data computer.
